Welcome

Welcome to Rutland’s Issues and Options consultation – part of the process to develop a new Local Plan for the County.
This consultation asks how you would choose to tackle some important planning issues and possible options for future development in Rutland. It covers everything from climate change and affordable housing needs to supporting jobs and promoting biodiversity.
The Issues and Options consultation runs from Thursday 30 June until Friday 16 September 2022 because there’s a lot of information to read and understand before you answer each question. You can save your answers as you go and then return at any point to complete the consultation.

This consultation is detailed because it will help to shape how Rutland changes and develops over the next 15 to 20 years. I hope you’ll agree this is absolutely critical to the future of our County and therefore well worth your time. Thank you in for taking part.

Councillor Lucy Stephenson

Leader of Rutland County Council
