Braunston In Rutland Parish Council would like to respond please regarding our classification as a large village, we were previously a restraint village then a small village, classification is now done purely on the number of houses in the settlement which is nonsensical as infrastructure and facilities are key for village life.
There seems to be a lack of understanding regarding key issues relating to rural settlement and a lack of logical criteria to inform settlement designation.
