Appendix 6. Permitted sites for mineral extraction and recycling aggregates. This useful table needs an additional column. For minerals extraction a post-extraction land restoration requirement and date are often (always should be?) included in the original planning permission. This should be shown here to record the extractor's obligations and to help planning for the future use of the land. These dates are set years, often decades, in advance and everyone (planners, councillors, public) may lose track of them. For an example of what could be included, please refer to the penultimate row of the table "Little Casterton". To this could be added "All land restoration to be completed by 31 December 2027". (This is based on the Environmental Statement Addendum Appendix A1.1 (Minerals Assessment) for the Quarry Farm site outline planning application that says (section 2.3) the site is “subject to two active mineral planning permissions” with a “requirement for all [land] restoration works to be completed by 31 December 2027”.)
