Stretton is designated small village.

Yet a site on Stocken Hall road which was put forward on the call for sites has been completely ignored for affordable housing.
This whole site could be used totally for affordable housing.
The site is next to Stocken ex Prison officers complex so all the infrastructure is already in place

Having objected in SS4 to the removal of PLDs for smaller villages and hamlets, we therefore object to either affordable or rural workers housing outside of the existing PLDs particularly as part of mixed developments.

It is good to see “perpetuity” for local people being included. However, it is not just “affordable” and “rural exception” housing that needs to remain in perpetuity for people with local connections. This policy could be more
imaginatively considered so preventing buy to let landlords block purchasing properties/developments (as in Wing and Uppingham) or properties being purchased as second homes/holiday lets.
