Received: 04/12/2023

Respondent: Miss Sophie Day

Representation Summary:

There is no infrastructure in place to support an extra 8 families in the area.
The sewerage is already stretched with the prison and existing houses. There are no local schools or doctors surgeries. The construction traffic for the prison is already damaging Stocken Hall Road.
Additionally the land is ecologically important as hunting area for birds of prey, including red kites and kestrels. Has an ecological survey been undertaken on this land prior to listing it as a preferred option?

Respondent: Mrs Lauren Mathers

Representation Summary:

This will greatly affect the community of stocken, we have no local amenities the land and housing is leasehold land and the suggested site is for 8 dwellings, their is not sufficient land or support systems in place for this infrastructure. This will also affect the rural access that residents have to George Henry woods. If there is anti social behaviour what provisions are being put into place. Strongly disagree the suitability of this provision ! There is already struggles with prison traffic and farming traffic on this one road access

Received: 09/12/2023

Respondent: Ms S Corner

Representation Summary:

The infrastructure to supply this development is not adequate and there are already issues with both sewerage, waste water and flooding brought on by the additional development at the prison, resulting in raw sewage breaching pathways and roads. Additional development will require huge investment particularly as the prison is due to expand next year and no doubt potentially after that. Other considerations include no public transport provision, no street lighting, no availability to local doctors or dental health provision, no access to shops (20 Mile round trip) and limited access to education, provided by at a cost to tge redidents.

The road has not got enough access and is already a risk with traffic. The crime in the area is already at high levels and low forms of accommodations only increases with this there is not enough facilities to accommodate the extra people , not enough public services and waste disposal , doctors and will have a negative effect on near by busninesses and cost of living

Received: 10/12/2023

Respondent: Mr Graeme Hartshorne

Representation Summary:

The proposed site has no local infrastructure in place to support an additional 8 dwellings . The bus service is minimal and the nearest towns are 9 miles away.
Next year HMP Stocken will be opening a new 200 man accommodation wing bringing with it additional traffic through extra staff and visitors to an already overly used 2 lane road.
The drainage system which is already pushed to the limit will have the extra burden of dealing with an additional 200 plus people using it which is the equivalent of 50 , families of 4 people.

Respondent: Mr John Penfold

Representation Summary:

I do not feel this site is suitable due to the lack of local services and amenities. There is no local shop, no village school(s) no where for children to play; and there is already insufficient access to doctors and dentists in the area. The site is also adjacent to local woodland where dog walkers / walkers come to enjoy the countryside.

Respondent: Mr Gary Spencer

Representation Summary:

The proposed site as set out in the plan does not explain how the local infrastructure will be amended to make this viable. How will waste disposal, electricity, sewage and water supply be managed for example? Stocken Hall Road, is a country road, which is already heavily used by prison and farm traffic. Will the road be widened and repaired regularly to cope?

Received: 14/12/2023

Respondent: Mr Nick Hammond

Representation Summary:

I'm writing to object to having the land off Stocken Hall Road converted into a dwellings sight.

My major concern is the road access being able to cope. You may not be aware but the prison is expanding massively with plans of 100 extra staff, 100s of extra visitors and increased lorries for produce. The road is tiny and there is several near misses a day. And this will increase when the inmates move in. Another smaller note is the farmer opposite pretty much fills the field with smoke on a daily basis due to the prevailing winds

•PolicyH10 allowed provided 'reasonable and convenient access to schools' etc&no significant barriers such as 'other forms of housing would not be suitable'Not fulfilled by this site.
•Site dismissed in Site appraisal doc July2017 and SHELAA(2019), inappropriate for development.
•Likely to affect Local Widlife Site, BAP priority habitat. Adjacent to Stretton Woods, plot previously undeveloped, mature hedgerows(EN4&EN1).Development harm biodiversity.
•'Detrimental effect on amenities of adjacent occupiers'as popular walking site.(PROW)
•Compound affect considering 5Counties expansion(H10.4) on already overstretched community services. No resources for new, isolated site.

Respondent: Stretton Parish Council

Representation Summary:

We feel it is unreasonable to impose a further site for 8 families within a small parish, already regarded as unsustainable, as it would increase demand for local schools, infrastructure and health services, most of which does not exist.
