Respondent: Mr Andrew Nebel

Representation Summary:

The Table no.4 on page 82 states 153 houses are needed as a minimum after allowing for commitments & competitions yet this section on the contribution required from Larger Villages confusingly states 184 houses. This is a discrepancy of 31. This means that the Section 18 Consultation is invalid as the public are being asked to agree to inaccurate and contradictory information. What are we being asked to agree to 153 or 184?

Representation Summary:

The site wrongly attributed to “Land at Stamford Road” is not a suitable development area – the topography is too steep and would need considerable engineering. The access point onto the Empingham Road is dangerous. The road is single track at that point and the cars come belting down the road despite it being a 30mph. Visibility is only around 30m at the roadside point around the historic drystone wall bridge. This will potentially cause a danger to road users and pedestrians as there is no footpath.
Water voles have been seen in the Brook and a survey would need to be carried out. Both the voles and their habitat are protected under the UK Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Priority Species under the UK Post-2010 Biodiversity Framework. Water voles are listed as endangered on both the Great Britain and the England Red List for Mammals. I would be concerned that any construction work at this site could be a flood risk.
