We would ask that an additional condition be added to this Policy similar to SS9 para (c) about “not being detrimental to the character and appearance of the landscape, etc…”

We support the allocation of residential developments as laid out in Policy H1 and in particular the sites proposed for Larger Villages with 184 dwellings allocated against the 153 required.

SS11 (now SS10) (a) states that agricultural buildings will be permitted in the countryside provided that their scale, siting, design, materials and use of landscaping minimise the visual impact on the landscape and ensure they are not prominent on the skyline.
Therefore, policy SS11 (now SS10) does ensure that proposed agricultural buildings in the countryside would not have a detrimental impact on the character or appearance of the landscape.
