The Uppingham Neighbourhood Plan Review includes a policy proposal for a 1,000sqm net floorspace convenience store on the Uppingham Gate site which will satisfy the Local Plan requirement for improving convenience food shopping in Uppingham. A major supermarket operator has confirmed their interest in such a proposal. and is prepared to undertake a sequential and retail impact test on Uppingham Town Centre. The justification text for policy E10 should include reference to this Neighbourhood Plan proposal.
